Update on the 2008 Festival last weekend

Thanks to everyone who came out to the 2008 Ibex Valley Bouldering Festival! It was a great event, the weather looked pretty ominous at first, but then it cleared up and we had some nice sunshine. It was the biggest year yet, we had about 94 registrants altogether. There were some very good climbers cranking some of the most classic problems in the valley. The "Hardcore Session" was a blast and even though no problems were sent, some inspiring pulling went down.
Check back soon for a short video of the festival!

Details on 2008 Festival

Alright, here's the scoop on this year's festival, Sunday, Aug. 3rd. The festival kicks off at 10AM but if your vehicle won't make it over the rough road into the boulders then plan to be at the gravel pit (see map below) by 9AM to catch a shuttle in.
The cost is the same as last year: $10 for adults, $5 for kids. This includes a hearty, all-you-can-eat meal with vegetarian and vegan options.
This year's schedule is much like last year's (scroll down to view) with a few exciting changes. This is the first year we have an open catagory. The open climbers will climb after everyone else so we can all watch and cheer them on. We're hoping to see some good projects sent. :)
Also, we'll have a high line and slack line this year. The band will be back again and better than ever as will the grizzly-grip competition. Oh yes, and our sponsors are coming through with some great prizes!
See ya there!

5th Annual Ibex Valley Bouldering Festival

Greetings. Preparations are underway for that time of the year when we all converge on the beautiful Ibex Valley for a day of comraderie, teamwork, and finger-tip biting fun on the crisp granite and greenstone boulders.

The date for this year's festival will be August 3, 2008.

Stay tuned for more specific updates!
